    I have been seeing the donate button around more and more lately. Part of me thinks that this is a good idea. And then part of me is like why should I donate to you? Seems sort of crazy to be asking for a handout if you ask me.

      I have heard that these are a great way to make money from the internet. But do you ever wonder about all the spam you are sending if you do the email marketing? This to me is wrong. I hate getting it and I would hate to be the one sending it all the time.

    That “Donate!” button usually does not help that much. But it is great to mention in top 10 ways to monetize a website! Too bad it did not work for any of my websites. And I really ran a few. The website should offer as much as possible and should be very popular, in order to earn from that button.

    I have found that advertising on facebook helps me out. I also do it on Twitter and any other social network site I can find. This has brought me people to my store that would have never seen it otherwise. I suggest one does this as well.

    Unfortunately, too many start a website only for getting money from it. I guess it is important to know that it is good NOT to think about the money. At least when starting out. After setting the website up and worked a lot on the content, you can expect to earn some cash. But remember, you have to work a lot before applying some of the top 10 ways to monetize a website.
